The best sport on the planet
Should be the best sport for the planet
The best sport
on the planet
should be the
best sport
for the planet
So we do everything we can to help make that happen.
After all — sustainability isn’t just a priority for us; it’s the reason we exist in the first place.
Our focus has been the same since day 1, and is only made possible by the community who has rallied around our mission:
To do right by the Earth and the people on it.
That means we're diverting a pound of plastic every 2.5 minutes!
In other words, we've recycled the weight of 9,436 toasters, 18,871 squirrels, or 2,264,560 marshmallows (which is a lot of marshmallows, if you ask us!)
We work to grow the sport sustainably in 3 main areas:
- How We Make Our Discs
- Using Business as a Force For Good
- Building a Community Who Cares
We're proud to have produced thousands of discs without purchasing a SINGLE ounce of virgin plastic ♻️
We use plastic from the Sporting Goods, Automotive, Medical, and Agricultural, and other industries.
Because local manufacturing = lower environmental impact 🌍
100% recycled cardboard for our boxes, 100% recycled paper tape, and we offset the emissions from each shipment we send out 📦
In other words: our discs are made to be remade.
By avoiding foil-stamps in favor of bottom embossing and "ghost stamps", our discs can easily be ground up and recycled. We also include the plastic type for easier future identification + re-processing.
There wasn't previously a sure-fire way to ensure our discs and others could be easily recycled.
So we created a Disc Recycling Program in 2022 to make it happen for not only us, but everyone in our sport 🤝
As a Certified B Corporation, we meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
It means we're committed to driving positive impact—putting people and the planet first in everything we do ☝️
Meaning that 1% of our revenue is donated to climate-focused efforts.
We provide a free shipping label and a discount to anyone who wants to participate in the program 🤘
Discs are sent to us by our community members in addition to retailers and other manufacturers, and are ground-down to be given a new life 🥏
Since 2022, the event has resulted in thousands of old discs finding a new home in 26 different countries.
To date, over 10,000 people have participated in the swap, making it the largest disc swap in the world 🎁
In addition to countless disc golfers bringing a bag of trash with them for their weekend round, there were over 200 official cleanup events hosted in 12 different countries!
This project was a collaboration with our friends at UDisc 🤘
In collaboration with UDisc — hundreds of disc golfers across the planet spent the month of April, 2024 doing planet-friendly-acts in exchange for a free disc, on us 🥏
- To become Climate Neutral Certified.
- To find a recycling solution for hard-to-recycle items — like our shipping labels
- Recycle more and more and more and more (ok, we think you get it) plastic for years to come ♻️
None of these will be easy, but we're committed to increasing our impact wherever we can, whenever we can 🌍
